Mass Effect 2
The Council will never trust Cerberus. They’ll never accept our help. Even after everything humanity has accomplished. But Shepard… they’ll follow her. She’s a hero, a bloody icon.
When the will defies fear, when duty throws the gauntlet down to fate, when honor scorns to compromise with death - that is heroism.
I’m proud of you.
You know, I honestly like seeing other people’s Shepards.
Their character, the general slate of the character ‘Commander Shepard’ that we’re given to shape for ourselves at the start of Mass Effect 1, can be developed so differently by their different creators throughout the course of the trilogy and it’s just really cool to see something like that in the fandom.
Also makes me wish I could make pretty photosets and gifs of my Shepard, but alas, my first and main Shepard is on the 360.
You know, it’s kinda hard to believe that Mass Effect, our adventure with Commander Shepard at least, is actually at an end. Hard to think it’s over now, no matter what our feelings of the questionable endings.
It’s probably because I haven’t slept and I just finished the Citadel DLC a second time, but it feels like yesterday I’d just started Mass Effect 1 and made my first Shepard. Thought the only threat to the galaxy was Saren and the geth, only for that plot to evolve into something even bigger and crazier. Thought I wouldn’t really come to care too much about the crew or this incredible sci-fi universe in general.
I don’t know, just seeing the gang in front of the Normandy at the end of the DLC, Garrus reassuring my Shepard of the future, and hearing what might be Shepard’s last line (“The best.”) got me all sentimental.
But I think Shep and his/her crew have earned a rest.
